Nello DeBlasio has been active in the DC-area theater community since moving here in 1998. He has performed locally with many community and professional theaters including: Brave Spirits, American Century, Quotidian, Project Y, Classika, The Source Festival, Cedar Lane Stage, The Arlington Players, and Capital City Players of DC. He has also appeared in several short films by Tohubohu Productions, WIFV, and others. In addition to acting, Nello has directed multiple short films and one-act plays, and hopes to one day start his own theater company. He recently collaborated with Edward Gero on the translation and adaptation of the original Italian play "Inventing the Enemy" by Tonino Tosto, which had world premiere staged readings at Theater J and the University of Maryland. Nello received his MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre's Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University. Nello first joined the Actors Center in 1999 and, in 2000, his entry was chosen as the winner of the AC Logo contest. That logo design was in use for the better part of the decade until it was replaced by the current AC logo a few years ago. Nello is excited to be on the board and looks forward to developing a new graphic identity for the group as it continues to grow and thrive.
